    I have been asked to include the below on tomorrow's Exchange agenda. 

    What is the definition of an electronic version of a paper based check in document – does it include a scanned PDF version of the paper record as well as a spreadsheet?

    Restrictions on Businesses, Activities and Undertakings Direction (No. 21)

    1. If contact information is collected using ‘another method’ under paragraph 13, the person who owns, controls or operates a restricted business, activity or undertaking must:
      1. use best endeavours to transfer any non-electronic information to an electronic system within 24 hours of collecting the information; and

    Example - an electronic method such as a spreadsheet

    1. comply with the requirements for collection and storage; and
    2. if requested, provide the information collected under paragraph 13 and the electronic information under paragraph 14(a) to a public health officer within a stated time.

    Just posting the information about the Privacy Act and the different apps

    If needed for staff to feel confident they are doing the right thing - in the face of someone claiming that we are illegally collecting their contact details against the Privacy Act, the government has information against this argument - https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/covid-19/the-covidsafe-app-and-my-privacy-rights/

    It also does not apply to any other contact tracing apps or QR codes. For example, if a business is required under a public health order to collect your personal information for contact tracing purposes, and they ask you to provide your details through a State or Territory government app or QR code, or through another app or QR code, this is not an offence as they are not requiring you to use the COVIDSafe app.

    I promoted our online collection to a father last week in lieu of him entering the physical library.
