The Governance Advisory provides advice and support to Queensland councils in implementing and maintaining effective and compliant governance policies, frameworks, approaches and practices.
Recognising that local governments operate in a complex and ever-changing legislative environment, the Governance Advisory seeks to streamline the work of councils by offering tailored advice and assistance, utilising established policies and intelligence from across Queensland local government.
The Governance Advisory assists councils to develop and refine core governance policies, procedures and practices to meet their individual needs. This assistance can range from a simple health-check on the suite of policies in place or extend to the development and implementation of core governance functions and frameworks across council.
While some services and deliverables are free to LGMA subscribing councils, in-depth engagement is offered on a fee-for-service basis, priced on application in line with the scope of engagement.
The Governance Advisory offered by LGMA:
This is a fee-for-service and will be priced on application. The cost will reflect the scope of works, duration and level of service of engagement and will also cater for incidental expenses, such as travel and accommodation where onsite visits.
