Governance Village

This Village aims to support local government officers responsible for governance, corporate services and related statutory and administrative functions within Queensland councils.

The Village provides a forum to share information, discuss best practice and receive updates on legislation, regulatory requirements, policies and emerging issues affecting council governance and corporate operations. It also provides opportunities to hear from key oversight and regulatory agencies and other organisations relevant to local government.

Relevant roles may include Governance Managers and Coordinators, Governance Officers, Corporate Services Officers, Committee and Meeting Officers, Policy Officers, Integrity Officers, Election Officers, Right to Information and Privacy Officers, and officers responsible for statutory reporting and corporate governance.

The Village can also provide opportunities to engage with organisations including the Department of Local Government, Queensland Ombudsman, Queensland Audit Office, Office of the Information Commissioner and other relevant government and oversight agencies.
