Plumbing Team Leader

The Plumbing Team Leader is responsible for the day to day supervision and co-ordination of Reticulation staff, resources and activities.

The objectives of this position are:

    • Ensuring that all Reticulation works are executed in a safe efficient manner and delivered in accordance with Councils standards.
    • Supervise the maintenance, operation and construction of Council’s water and sewer-age reticulation networks to ensure a continuous, safe and effective supply of water and a safe and effective sewer system for the community.

Procurement Officer

To Implement Council’s policies and procedures to deliver effective and efficient logistics support services, stores operations, stock inventory and acquisition of goods and services in line with Council’s Procurement Policy and the Local Government Regulation 2012.     Principal Industry Specialist – Economic Development

    The purpose of this position is to provide strategic stewardship across Council’s economic development portfolio, with a particular focus on major industry projects and the energy transition.

    This role leads the participation in social impact assessments and the coordination, negotiation, and execution of Community Benefit Agreements (CBAs) in line with Queensland Government legislation and Council’s Renewable Energy Community Benefits Sharing Policy and ensures financial visibility and governance of associated funds.     Facilities Tradesperson

    As a key member of our Facilities team, the Facilities Tradesperson is responsible for completing day-to-day maintenance activities for Council-owned buildings, facilities and other structures within the Shire.  In this role, you will apply your trade knowledge and skills to complete a variety of reactive and planned maintenance activities and regular inspections to ensure that Council facilities remain in a safe and serviceable condition.     Community Liaison Officer (Yellow Crazy Ants)

    We are seeking a proactive Community Liaison Officer to support the Townsville Yellow Crazy Ant Management Program. In this role, you will collaborate with the Senior Team Leader and other stakeholders to develop and implement engagement strategies that raise awareness and encourage participation in the program. You will build strong relationships with government agencies, local businesses, and residents, assist in community forums, and address concerns to ensure effective program delivery. Key responsibilities include coordinating treatment activities with external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety and governance requirements, and sharing accurate technical information under the Biosecurity Act 2014. This position also involves contributing to discussions with state and federal agencies to identify innovative strategies and working closely with the YCA team to maintain seamless communication and program effectiveness.
