SUPPORTING THE PROFESSIONALS SHAPING QUEENSLAND COMMUNITIES

Finance and Rates Village

This Village aims to support local government officers working across finance, accounting and revenue with a focus on rates functions within Queensland councils.

The Village provides a forum to connect with colleagues across the sector, share information and practical approaches, discuss emerging issues and challenges, and receive updates on legislation, policy and regulatory requirements affecting council rates and revenue operations. It provides an opportunity for officers to learn from the experiences of other councils and share approaches to improving rates administration, revenue collection and customer service.

Relevant roles may include Chief Financial Officers, Finance Managers, Accountants, Financial Analysts, Financial Services Officers, Rates Managers and Coordinators, Revenue Managers and Officers, Property and Rating Officers, Rates and Revenue Team Leaders and other officers responsible for council rating, valuation, revenue collection and associated processes.

The Village complements specialist sector networks and professional development available through organisations such as Local Government Finance Professionals (LGFP) and the Local Authority Revenue Managers Association of Queensland (LARMAQ).

We trust that you derive value from the interactions and information shared via this forum. Please feel free to offer topics or suggestions for future forums and exchanges.

Note: LGMA Exchanges are available at no cost to officers of subscribing councils.

This group has been created to allow members of this village the opportunity to share information, upload documents and post topics for discussion. This group is private and only officers working in Queensland Local Governments will be accepted. We believe it will serve as a valuable extension of our existing exchange, as it is a great tool for both networking and cross council collaboration.
