In line with the Acts Interpretation (Fee Unit) Regulation 2022, the Right to Information Act 2009’s application fee and processing charges will increase on 1 July 2025.

The application fee will increase from $55.75 to $57.65 and the processing charges will increase from $8.65 to $8.95 per fifteen minutes spent working on the application.

These updated amounts will only apply to applications which are received by an agency on or after 1 July 2025. Applications received on or before 30 June 2025 will have an application fee of $55.75 and processing charges of $8.65, even if they were noncompliant when they were received.
