How does everyone address their rate notices?  Do you have....

    Jane S Smith & John T Smith
    10 Smith Street
    Town  QLD  1111

    OR

    J S Smith & J T Smith
    etc, etc.

I can't seem to find any legislation stating what we need as a name on the notice, unless you can point me in the right direction.

    Thank you

Mackay's address is as the first example. This assists in identifying duplicate names or identifying individuals.

    Hi Lara,

At Douglas Shire Council we address our notices as J S & J T Smith.  This is the same all the way through to our Final Notice.  If we send a ratepayer to debt recovery with CHL for a Letter of Demand, they address it to the ratepayers full name.

Thanks everyone, we have now updated our notices to reflect:

JS Smith & SS Smith rather than John S Smith and Susan S Smith.
