Women in Local Government Village

ALGWA and LGMA Queensland have joined forces to present the 2017 Inspiring Women’s Leadership in Local
Government Forum.  This year, it is all about Empowerment:  how to empower yourself; how to empower your
organisations to, in turn, empower women within those organisations; and why empowerment of employees is critical

for the future sustainability of local government in this state.  Delegates will develop tools to better promote
themselves, will explore opportunities and challenges and will have the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the
state and share stories and experiences.

This informative, challenging and fun Forum will encourage you to consider your place in
the sector and how you can best contribute now and into the future.  We hope to see you
there.

Colins Biggers Paisley and Queensland Treasury Corporation are our Gold Partners for this year's Women in Local Government Forum.

Thank you to the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning for providing scholarships for this event, and to Mead Perry Group for investing in a delegate from a regional council to attend this forum.

This dynamic and invigorating conference looked at empowering women in the local government context. The Conference considered the application of leadership to engage women in the sector, developing techniques for the 'every-day' leader and creating a workplace culture that values the contribution of women in all aspects and levels of the organisation.

The agenda included inspirational guest presenters sharing their valuable insights and real-world examples, skilled facilitators who provided effective strategies to implement in the workplace, and plenty of opportunities to network, collaborate and share ideas with other attendees.
